Longhorn Beach Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award for Third Consecutive Year

Texas Beach Volleyball has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence by securing the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award.

This prestigious honor is awarded to programs that maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 throughout the academic year.

Remarkably, the Longhorns have achieved this distinction for the third consecutive year, underscoring their dedication to balancing rigorous athletic schedules with outstanding academic performance.

In addition to this team accolade, eight student-athletes were named to the CCSA All-Academic Team, highlighting individual scholarly achievements within the program.

These athletes include Macey Butler (Advertising), Chloe Charles (Human Dimensions of Organization), Katie Hashman (Finance), Maddison Parmelly (Masters in Strategic Communications), Ava Patton (Management), Emma Grace Robertson (Marketing), Kylie Wickley (Physical Culture & Sports), and Karin Zolnercikova (Physical Culture & Sports).

Their ability to excel in demanding majors while contributing significantly on the court speaks volumes about the program's culture of holistic development.

Beyond academic achievements, the Longhorns have had a stellar season on the sand.

They clinched the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championship in their inaugural season with the league, marking a significant milestone for the program.

Following this triumph, Texas made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, entering as the No. 7 seed.

These accomplishments highlight the team's competitive prowess and the effective leadership of Coach Metzger, who was named CCSA Coach of the Year.

As the Longhorns look ahead to future seasons, their continued success both academically and athletically sets a high standard for collegiate programs nationwide.
