Central Texas Strong Online Auction Launches to Fund Flood Relief |
Community Unites to Support Hill Country Families Affected by Devastating Floods |
Central Texas Strong, a coalition spearheaded by the Moody Center in collaboration with Dwyer Workforce Development, has initiated an ambitious online auction from July 21 through August 4 to raise essential funds for families impacted by the early July floods in the Hill Country.
Organizers have curated over 100 exclusive items and experiences, generously donated by artists, sports franchises, hospitality groups, and local businesses, creating a diverse catalog to attract a wide range of bidders.
Highlights include autographed guitars and backstage passes from renowned musicians, VIP suite tickets to major sporting events, luxury weekend getaways at Texas resorts, and curated cultural packages showcasing local wineries and ranch stays.
Specialty bundles, such as the “Taste of the Hill Country” featuring gourmet food and wine, underscore the region’s heritage and support small producers recovering from flood damage.
Proceeds will be distributed through established relief partners on the ground—food banks, emergency shelters, and rebuilding crews—to cover immediate needs like temporary housing, clean-up supplies, and mental-health support.
Central Texas Strong’s leadership team, including Alex Katz from the Moody Center and Barb Clapp of Dwyer Workforce Development, emphasizes transparent allocation: real-time impact updates will be posted on the auction site so donors can see exactly how each bid contributes to rescue and recovery.
With an easy, mobile-friendly bidding platform and community ambassadors promoting the event across social channels, the auction aims to turn fan excitement and generosity into rapid, tangible aid—helping neighbors rebuild homes and lives stronger than before. |
